Chester Two Nixes Sun Tank Farm Plea In Chester Township
Chester Township supervisors rejected Sun Company's bid to build a tank farm and refused to renew Transco Energy permits for a naphtha gas plant. Joseph Palazzo was the lone vote against the rejection and also opposed releasing funds held in escrow. A June 22 date was set to decide a township ordinance on refining and storage of petroleum products. Tenants of Annex homes protested rent increases for one to three bedroom units, with increases approved to cover maintenance costs. Supervisor Hales outlined plans to shift maintenance to a 24 hour service and to seek Section 8 subsidies for those unable to pay. An Annex resident accused President Spykerman of neglecting Ward 1 issues, which Supervisors called unfounded.

COLLINGDALE The zoning board cancelled its scheduled meeting for Wednesday night in the Ollis Brothers appeal at 238 Clifton Ave. The Everetts of 234 Clifton Ave protested a prior non conforming use approval for a garage door installation business. Delaware County Common Pleas Court requested more testimony and a continuance to reach a settlement.
