Budget Down Taxes Up In Trainer School District
The Trainer School Board approves a 1963 64 budget of 213 050 down 17 175 from the current year while the tax rate rises two mills to 51. The reassessment of Stanffer Chemical Co property causes a 20 000 assessment loss and new trailer assessments align with other homes. The plan funds two foreign language teachers for grades 4 8 and a new educational TV program. Also approved a pay cut for longtime secretary Raymond Fitzsimmons to 1 400, to reflect reduced workload. The board will send 10th grade students to Chester Junior and Senior Highs next fall with public transportation. A June 21 hearing on selling N Z Graves property for delinquent taxes is noted, with proposed park recreation use by the borough. Delinquent taxes total 150 000.
