Red China Charges Soviet Invasion Across Border
Tokyo reports that China accused the Soviet Union of crossing into Yumin County Sinkiang with troops tanks and armored cars. A Chinese note alleged a Chinese herdswoman was killed and a herdsman kidnapped as frontier guards clashed in self defense. China demanded an immediate halt to encroachment and the return of the kidnapped herdsman with potential compensation. The Soviet side had no comment.
