Superintendent Frederick Hospitalized After Fainting Incident

Newtown Delco district superintendent Meken G. Frederick was admitted to Delaware County Memorial Hospital after fainting at a high school graduation night. He is on blood thinners and remains hospitalized. assistant superintendent Thomas Kerr will fill in duties briefly. Frederick, 48, has served 27 years in education and was appointed superintendent three years ago.

Man convicted of fondling girl in Darby case

A 47 year old man, Walter Miller of Mill Street Darby, was found guilty last week of fondling a 14 year old girl and acquitted of rape and aggravated indecent assault. He was convicted of indecent assault and corrupting the morals of a minor. The girl testified she was home with Miller and her 3 year old nephew when the Jan 10 incident occurred. Miller faced bail set at 10 percent of 5000 dollars.
