Rod Stewart fan buys engraved plate after concert
Marie Oliver, a Teledyne Wirz Co. worker on strike, spent her subsistence from the United Steelworkers to buy a $50 engraved 12 inch gold plate for Rod Stewart. She said the plate, engraved Congratulations to Rod and Alana, April 6, 1979, was a special gift for the performer after his sold out Spectrum show in Philadelphia. Oliver explained she used picket money rather than a family trip to Denver and hoped for a photo or note from Stewart.
