A 21-year police veteran and his teenage son were attacked on Haverford College campus while collecting leaves for a biology project. Bereda, a crime prevention officer, suffered a concussion and broken jaw. his son endured a concussion and facial injuries. Suspect Thomas Wilson, 20, Ardmore, was arrested later and charged with multiple offenses. Bail set at $10,000.

Police say a man stopped by authorities on a murder probe opened fire with a machine gun on officers, injuring three, including two from Kentucky, before the suspect fled in a van. The assailant and three others died in the explosion. a couple's daughter was among the killed. Fourth spy suspect busted in Soviet secrets case

Ills Plague Septuplets In Orange California
In Orange California two James Martin and Bonnie Marie Frustaci newborns were listed in critical unstable condition with a severe lung disease. Five other premature babies named Patricia Ann Stephen Earl and Richard Charles were described as critical but improving daily.
