Nunn urges CDBG funds to go to structures over services
Delaware County Council member Wallace H. Nunn urged shifting federal Community Development Block Grant funds toward municipal infrastructure such as sewers and streets rather than social welfare programs. He cited high real estate taxes and the need to aid homeowners while preserving aid to Upper Darby homeless shelter projects. The 6.8 million dollar 1994-95 CDBG program funds over 100 projects, with more than a third aimed at ADA compliance and public-access improvements, as Pickett noted, unless the state acts to free Liquid Fuels money for such work.
