NASA launched weather rockets from Wallops Island Virginia to trace air currents near the earth's edge. Bluish vapor trails formed by aluminum vapor glow as sunlight at 150 miles altitude creates a blue cloud observed by residents and coastal camera sites.
Fibre-Metal Products Co. Concord and USWA Local 5739 reached a tentative agreement ending a 66 day strike involving 270 workers. A membership meeting Friday will ratify the deal, with ratification promising recall Monday and full production by midweek.
The Philadelphia Archdiocese announced a September rise in Catholic high school tuition from 300 to 400 dollars, affecting 53 750 students across 31 schools in five counties. Families with multiple children pay a maximum of 750 dollars. A diocesan spokesman blamed higher salaries and operating costs plus a 3 7 million dollar deficit for the change.
