Seven Pusey Ave Students Slashed By Drain Cleaner Blast
In Collingdale a bottle of drain cleaner exploded as custodian Lloyd Mousley tried to unclog a fountain near Pusey Ave Elementary. Seven five year old pupils and a teacher were sprayed with caustic liquid. all faces and heads were affected. Police Chief Elmer Andress said the scene was the worst he has seen in twenty years on the force.

School Board President Bernard Moran Dies Wife in Crash
Louise Moran, 46, of Nether Providence, died at Crozer-Chester Medical Center after an early morning crash in Nether Providence. Her husband Bernard Moran, 48, remained in critical condition with head injuries after surgery. Another Nether Providence man and three others were injured in separate incidents. Moran, a Wallingford Swarthmore School Board president and Rutgers graduate, had been elected to a six year term in 1969 and reelected president in 1973 and 1974. John Bruce Lewis, 24, of Rose Valley, was under observation at CCMC following the collision.
