In Uxbridge Massachusetts 10 year old Peter Gosselin vanished during a blizzard and after 20 days of searches his body was found in a melting snowbank five feet from his front door. police say no sign of struggle and medical examiner to determine cause.
State police questioned several witnesses after a rear apartment blaze killed four in Prospect Park. An incendiary device was found at the scene. Among the injured a 10-year-old boy remains critical while a newborn son survives. residents evacuated but may return as inspectors assess damage.

Swarthmore resident Ed mind Jones would not resign from the SEPTA board despite Delaware County Council pressure. Council seeks to replace him with Dennis Rochford as part of a regional power realignment led by Faith Whittlesey and others in Delaware County and Philadelphia. Jones plans to serve through his term to Sept 1 while supporting John MacMurray in the board’s management study recommendations.
Two political allies, Nicholas Micozzie and James Lehan, had to be separated at a private club after a heated exchange tied to Micozzie's decision to switch from the Democratic to the Republican party for the 163rd district. Both men apologized to the club president, who said the issue was resolved.
Two gunmen robbed a Purolator guard outside Granite Run Mall as he carried a shopping bag with at least $73,000 in receipts from Acme Market.
