General Motors plans price cuts of 104 to 313 dollars on nine small models as rebates end February 28. GM aims to boost sales by removing some standard equipment while focusing on lighter fuel-efficient cars. deliveries begin in March.
Swarthmore High will host eight to ten high IQ students from disadvantaged areas under the ABC program after a local group secured a charter with the national ABC organization. They will live in a house owned by the Swarthmore Presbyterian Church with house parents and tutors, funded by seed money and local donations, and tuition paid by the local group.
The Wallingford Swarthmore School Board may close Summit Elementary and transfer students to Wallingford Elementary next fall. Declining enrollments and rising operating costs drive the plan, with projected savings of about 103 456 dollars annually and potential rental income of about 150 000 dollars per year. The feasibility study also notes a possible rental to the county Intermediate Unit for a special education facility.

Delaware County Judge Howard F. Reed Jr. ruled Friday for Samuel Piraino operator of a CITCO station at MacDade Blvd and Parker Ave Holmes against Golden Petroleum Co in an ejectment action. The lease is argued as a franchise ending only for good cause. Piraino keeps possession with no damages due. 20 days for exceptions granted.
