Winter snowstorm brings mild disruption to area services
Sufficient warning and cooperative timing kept the winter's largest snowfall from more than a mild inconvenience. Most county schools reopened with two hour delays in districts like Chichester and Penn-Delco. SEPTA lines ran on or near schedule after brief delays, and Conrail reported 15 to 20 minute delays with a 40 minute fault-caused hold on five Wilmington line trains. PennDOT crews plowed since 4 30 a m, keeping roads passable with salting on hills and curves.
