City expands job fund with added 539206 in federal aid
Chester City Council learned Wednesday it will receive 539206 in additional Title 6 CETA funds to create new city jobs for the unemployed. The $539206 boost comes on top of $450000 already allocated under Title 2 CETA and a prior $336000 Title 6 grant. McCue said about 39 more positions may be created with the newer funds, likely clerical and highway or parks work. Applicants must be city residents and unemployed 30 days. exceptions include under employed and those exhausted unemployment benefits. Interview referrals will follow BES screening and city listings.

Medina quintuplet death reported in Jerusalem
One of the five-week-old Medina quintuplets died from digestive problems at Hadassah Hospital. The remaining four babies, two boys and two girls, are in satisfactory condition and in incubators. They were born prematurely on December 29 to Mrs Moshe Medina, wife of a prison employee, who said fertility drugs were used.
