A blue ribbon commission urged President Johnson and Congress to guarantee a minimum annual income for every American family. The plan, costing between 2 and 20 billion dollars, could affect up to 35 million people if set at 3000 dollars per year. The 210 page report from the National Commission on Technology Automation and Economic Progress cites broad support among its 14 members including IBM’s Thomas Watson Jr. and UAW president Walter Reuther. The group urged further study and noted most ideas would become commonplace tomorrow.

Delaware County may be barred from giving $500 yearly to the Delaware County Firemen's Association over a segregation dispute.
