Chester Area Retail Committee Seeks Extended Hours and Debated Road Detours
The Professional Association's Retail Committee plans extended store hours to 8 p.m. on December 13 19 21 22 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on December 13 and 20 with foot patrols by Chester police along Avenue of the States. Santa visits are planned and a Route 320 bridge delay plus detour markings are sought with added signs for the Chester Greenway Business District. Local officials Rep. Robert Wright and Rep. Bob Mt. Marple back the measures and a PennDOT liaison is proposed. The CBPA also donated to Centro San Juan Bautista for a Puerto Rican Week Art Contest prizes.

Reilly backed by FOP for county district attorney
The Fraternal Order of Police endorsed John A. Reilly for county district attorney. Ridley Township Detective Francis J. Bascelli said the lodge executive committee called Reilly the most qualified candidate for the key law enforcement post. Reilly, 15 years as acting ADA, helped found the Delaware County Crime Laboratory and led the Major Crimes Unit. He also teaches at Delaware County Community College and is respected by federal, state, and local agencies. Hazel will become Common Pleas Court judge, making the appointment timely.
