Pennsylvania Led Nation in Strikes in 1980 Low Lost Days
Philadelphia reports that Pennsylvania had the most strikes in 1980 while the total days lost to strikes and lockouts fell to 2.2 million, the lowest in 14 years. The drop came despite high strike activity, with many days lost in nonindustry sectors due to a teachers strike. Alvin Margulis of the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics provided the figures.
