Bear siege ends as warden kills rampaging animal
In Garwin Iowa an 220-pound black bear ripped a screen door and paused at an elderly woman’s home before her son shot at it and a game warden killed the rampaging animal. The 85-year-old resident, Thelma Kouba, was removed by ambulance and listed stable after shock. A neighbor owned the bear. Later in Denver an armed bank robber used a “Have Gun Want Money” card to bluff a teller and fled with an undisclosed sum.
