Deaf cadet charged with murder in Miami stabbing case
A 16 year old deaf military cadet from Kentucky Military Institute was charged with first degree murder in the stabbing death of a Miami hotel maid, Martha Nag, 44. Mundy IH was arrested in Fort Lauderdale after authorities said Nag identified a youth as the killer. Mundy, an honor student born deaf, had been en route to Louisville to enroll at the institute but appeared in Miami and checked into a downtown hotel. His grandmother had earlier arranged for a flight to Louisville. Mundy denied involvement. He had most of his schooling at a St. Louis handicapped school and enrolled at the institute last September.
