Cable TV fight over Ridley Township franchise reaches court
In U.S. District Court in Philadelphia American Television Communication parent of American Cablevision of Pennsylvania clashes with Delaware County Cable over the Ridley Township franchise. Delaware County Cable had operated under an old contract and began serving Secane before ACP won a 1978 award after a 1978 ordinance repeal.

Junkyard raid nets three arrests in Marcus Hook area
Three men were arrested and several stolen cars recovered after a Tuesday raid on Clark Turner's junk yard at 30 E. 10th St. State Police from Belmont barracks assisted in the operation. Arrested were Anapa E. Thomas, Gordon, and Michael E. Whiteside on charges of possession of stolen property and conspiracy. Turner's Junkyard owner Clark Turner was not arrested. The investigation continues with more arrests expected as five cars and a truckload of stolen items were removed.

Carl Smith of Bryn Mawr faces armed robbery charges tied to the case and related robberies. The intruder’s jacket linked to the crime was found at Smith’s home. The jury will deliberate following the testimony and arraignment details.

Two fires struck Tuesday evening with the Sandrose trophy manufacturing firm at 5th and Water in Chester gutted after a 6 45 p m blaze that raged over three hours. Fire officials say accidental appearance but undetermined cause. 80 city firefighters fought the flames. one firefighter was treated for a shoulder injury. The Goldstein family plans to rebuild and operate a temporary showroom at 34 E 7th St as they recover from the loss.
