Accidents kill four in county over weekend
A weekend span left four dead in Delaware County. In Ridley Township Evelyn Brennan and her husband William, both 58, were struck on Franklin Avenue by a car driven by 20-year-old John Gehling. both died at area hospitals. Gehling faces involuntary manslaughter and related charges after bail set at 10,000. Stacey McCann, born March 30, was visited by the couple earlier. In Upper Chichester two 24-year-old men, Brian McGinty of Darby and Samuel LaGrossa of Philadelphia, died when their car hit a bridge abutment on Route 322 near I-95.

About 300 youths gathered in a Mortonville field for a large underage drinking party in Chester County. Police surrounded the crowd with seven state troopers and finally arrested 43 people as attendees dispersed into nearby woods. North Carolina Attorney General Rufus Edmisten obtained a temporary restraining order against Wholesale Marketing Co. Inc. of Sharon for allegedly misleading consumers with flyers touting 31 piece ovenware sets as a suggested retail price of $89.50 while claiming they could be sold for $20 from a warehouse clearance. He said the sets never sold for $89.50 and a Wake County Superior Court hearing was set for April 17.
