Corpus Christi ISD taps Guzman Lopez as new superintendent
Corpus Christi Independent School District recommended Dr. Joseph Guzman Lopez for superintendent after a closed session. The vote was unanimous with board members Lockhart Delgado Acevedo DeHoyos Arreola and others approving the hire. Lopez, longtime executive with CCISD, earned degrees at North Texas State University and previously worked for Dallas ISD before joining CCISD in 1995. The board also approved a 1.4486 tax rate and a $59 million budget with a three penny paraprofessional pay increase and new teachers pay scale adjustments.
