Del Rio seeks overtime funds for homeland security operation
Del Rio Police Department may receive overtime reimbursement for officers involved in Department of Homeland Security Operation Stone Garden. Acting Chief David L. Morgan asked the city council to approve a resolution to apply for funds. Oprah Come to Our Small Town Entry Filmed in Del Rio
Del Rio residents and officials joined a crowd at the Dr. Alfredo Gutierrez Jr. Amphitheater to film footage for a contest entry inviting Oprah Winfrey to visit. Under coordinator Leno Hernandez and videographer Richard Hunkin, the shoot drew over 40 people including youths from the skate park and visitors from the Joe Ramos Center. Editing was set to begin and the entry would be sent to The Oprah Winfrey Show on Friday.
