Arson Suspected In Del Rio House Fire On E 3rd Street
Firefighters battled an early Sunday house blaze at 1208 E 3rd St owned by John Vasquez. Deputy Chief John Sheedy said the fire started in a hallway, caused about 86 000 dollars in damage to the home and contents plus 5 000 dollars to a pickup. No occupants were home. Investigation ongoing.

Death at the library during CSI Live event in Del Rio
Belle's lifelike disposal scene at the Val Verde County Library was part of Teen Road Week's CSI Live. Detective Eddie Cortez guided about 20 youths through the staged discovery of Belle and the clue hunt suggesting an accidental death.

Three Die In Single Vehicle Crash Near Del Rio
A rollover on U S Highway 277 North killed San Angelo residents Susana Ochoa Garcia 32 and her two young children. Garcia veered into the northbound lane at 2 50 a m then overcorrected crossing the southbound lane and hitting a rock embankment before the Crown Victoria burst into flames. All three victims died at the scene.
