The Buena Vista Parent-Teacher Association will present the 1981-82 scholastic year budget at a Monday meeting at 7 30 p m in the school. After business, parents tour the new building and view student displays in classrooms.

San Felipe Lions honor five for outstanding quarterly work
SF Lions awarded five members Joe Galvan Dan Hernandez Victor Ortiz Tony Reyes and John Olivares for outstanding quarterly service. Past president Max Cuellar received a Lions International 100 percent presidency award. The club discussed attending the Acuna Lions Queen Coronation dance and the second cabinet meeting in San Antonio. Directors voted to aid Crippled Children Camp Kerrville CARE LLLF Texas Eye Bank and Leader Dog School for the Blind with full participation. A $100 donation was approved to transport a Del Rio child undergoing eye removal surgery. Next meeting set for Wednesday at the Lions Hut 200 Taini St.

Del Rio school history donated to Whitehead Museum
Dr. Leonard Lewis's 1885 1938 History of the Del Rio Public Schools was donated to the Whitehead Museum. About 30 people attended the presentation by R. L. Bob Lewis, who shared memories of his father as a former Del Rio elementary principal. Lewis recalled Main Street moments and the city’s first red stop light.

Abrazo events highlight Fiesta Amistad festivities
John Thompson recalled the 1977 Texas Coahuila gift exchange at the Amistad International Bridge as the best Abrazo moment. Fiesta Amistad continues Saturday with the Fiesta Stage at 9 to 11 a.m. near the Val Verde County Courthouse and the Fiesta Val arts show 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Other Saturday events include the mayor's luncheon, the Grand International Parade, a menude cook-off, and a street dance.
