Thieves and vandals inflict heavy losses
Del Rio police report more than 1500 dollars in damages from vandalism and theft on Thursday and Wednesday. Ralph Veach reported acid damage to a car worth 900 dollars between 7 and 11 a.m. Thursday. Alfredo Guevara said burglars stole a TV, eight track, and 20 tapes valued at 260 dollars between Sept. 22 and 27. Rosa Montoya reported a bicycle stolen from her patio around 3 p.m. Thursday. Simon Ramon, Austin Elementary principal, said a knife set, glue, staples, and scissors were taken between 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday, valued at 38 dollars. Denise Garcia reported a ladies gold watch stolen on Sept. 7, valued at 200 dollars.

Kinney County Sheriff Norman Hooten and Police Chief Donald Nance reported the arrest and release to parents of a 15-year-old youth and his 12-year-old sister after a three month probe.
