Road dispute tests public use over Allen Ranch road
ANRA Superintendent Alan Cox says the public has right to use Box Canyon Road into Amistad National Recreation Area while the Allen Ranch Partnership, owner of the road, fights county paving plans. The dispute follows a 4.5 million dollar paving grant to Val Verde County that the ranch opposed. A jury previously ruled for the Allens in the private property case.
