Del Rio officials back bond plan to upgrade schools
San Felipe Del Rio Consolidated Independent School District Superintendent Sam Evins urged Realtors to back an $8 million bond election and a revised teacher salary schedule. He said the bond would fund central air conditioning and upgrades to all district facilities, raise education quality, and support safer, more comfortable schools. Evins noted a new student reassignment plan keeps most elementary students in neighborhood schools and that maps will guide new residents to the correct school. He also touched on bus service and a city sidewalk project planned for the next three to four years.
