The Del Rio Boys' Club announces a Saturday picnic at 1 p.m. and welcomes youths ages 6 to 18 to participate in organized sports and arts and crafts. Beginning June 1 the club will be open Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4:40 p.m. with activities and a chance for parents to attend. Girls are welcome as well as boys.

Police investigated a Del Rio spree of burglaries and thefts with losses exceeding $1,700. A resident reported an $800 wedding ring and $200 cosmetics taken from a home on Spring Street between 1:30 and 6 p.m. Wednesday. Other incidents included a broken back door window at a home on Spring Street, cash and jewelry missing, and a stripped 12 volt tractor battery from J.W. Crawford Plumbing.
