Hospital to buy new ambulance for Val Verde District
The Val Verde County Hospital District board accepted a 32900 bid from Superior Southwest Inc. for a 1980s van style ambulance. The vehicle will be fully equipped and meet federal and state safety requirements. The board also moved employee health insurance from Blue Cross Blue Shield to Aetna Casualty and Surety Co. and will hear the auditor’s report on the 1980 fiscal year at the June meeting.

Del Rio firemen spent a busy Tuesday fighting an auto fire at Plaza del Sol Mall Parking lot owned by Floyd Thurman and a trash can blaze at Studio One on Gibbs Street. Firemen from Station Two, plus volunteers, responded to a fogging machine smoke report at A and A Auto Electric on Ave F. No injuries reported and damages were minimal.

Val Verde County Sees State Funds For Voter Registration
Texas counties shared 627542 in state funds this month to encourage voter registration and list updates under a state law.
