Del Rio Agents Seize 181.8 Pounds of Marijuana
Border Patrol from the Del Rio Station seized 151.5 pounds of marijuana Thursday four miles from the Del Rio Port of Entry where the abandoned marijuana was found. It was valued at 121,250 dollars and turned over to the DEA Task Force. The report also notes other unrelated items from a different region.

Severe Thunderstorm Watch Near Del Rio Grows, Then Lifts
The Storm Prediction Center issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for parts of West Central and South Texas and adjacent waters from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Hail up to 3 inches and winds to 70 mph were possible. A later NWS radar update indicated a severe storm near Laughlin AFB and Del Rio, with hail up to quarter size and winds to 60 mph, but by 9:15 p.m. the storms weakened and the watch expired for Maverick County with the watch remaining until 10 p.m. in parts. Local resident Dolores Torres reported strong winds then calm, and Kinney County also received a severe warning prior to expiration.
