Indictments in Del Rio Drug Sweep Net 5 Suspects
Val Verde County Grand Jury returned 20 indictments leading to the arrest of five suspected drug dealers in the Del Rio area. Eight suspects remained jailed on about 500000 in bonds. The undercover probe began in December with officers from DPS, Del Rio police, DEA, and the sheriff's office.

Death of Walt Adams Retired railroad man dies in Del Rio
Willis Walton Walt Adams 70, retired Southern Pacific employee, died Tuesday night in a Del Rio hospital after a lingering illness. Born Aug 21 1910 in San Angelo he lived in Del Rio since 1930 where he ran the Club Cafe from 1933. He married Frances Cruise Oct 10 1931. Survived by wife Frances, daughter Patricia Lynch a sister Betty Holubee and three grandchildren. Rites Thursday at 4 pm Humphreys Doran Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Masonic Cemetery. Memorials to American Cancer Society or West Texas Boys Ranch. Pallbearers listed.
