County surveyor arrested after stop sign violation
Abner G Martinez Val Verde County surveyor was arrested on April 23 for driving while intoxicated after a sheriff deputy stopped his blue Ford F 150 for running a stop sign on Amistad Boulevard near Kings Way. The charge is Class B misdemeanor. an affidavit notes the patrol sighting at about 2 09 a m and the stop near Covey Ridge Drive.

Judge rules hearing fair in Del Rio officer reinstatement case
83rd Judicial District Judge Robert E. Cadena held that the city of Del Rio’s temporary dismissal of Daniel Jalomos Jr. and the officer’s appeal received a fair hearing with both sides adhering to the rules. The proceeding followed a two day December 2013 hearing after Jalomos was indefinitely suspended in May 2013 for alleged ethics and civil service violations. Students honored at Del Rio CTE awards ceremony and induction
The Career and Technical Education program held its Awards of Excellence at Paul Pong Theatre and inducted the National Technical Honor Society. CTE Director Roger Gonzalez lauded the event as a community celebration highlighting modern CTE, dual credit options, and a mission to prepare students for college and high paying careers.
