Amistad NRA closes 277N facilities for summer
Amistad National Recreation Area Superintendent Alan W. Cox announced the annual closing of park facilities at 277N effective Monday May 12. The site will reopen in the fall, with campers directed to Governors Landing and San Pedro and Spur 406. Cardholders receive half price.

Del Rio arrests after quick thinking nab armed robbers
Del Rio police captured Raul Saavedra and David Vasquez after a Friday night armed robbery at Torres Grocery. Witnesses provided partial license plate data, enabling Officer Jenigen to trace and stop the suspects. A pellet handgun was found under Vasquez’s seat.
