Sotelo named Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year
Sonya Sotelo a special education teacher at North Heights Elementary School is this year’s Del Rio Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year. She was surprised by family and Wal-Mart reps with a cake and a plaque. Sotelo receives 1000 dollars plus an honorary greeter vest and can pursue state and national awards worth 10000 and 25000. She has 11 years teaching experience and two at North Heights, focusing on self esteem and engaging learning.
