State Farm appeals Texas auto rate denial
State Farm says it will appeal the Texas Department of Insurance denial of a 12.1 percent average hike on personal auto rates. The department cited the increase as excessive, saying it would cost customers about 282 million dollars annually. Insurance Commissioner Jose Montemayor supported the ruling, noting the rise exceeds what is reasonably needed for claims and expenses.
