The News Herald cites Paige Scarlett Miller that the case remains open as detectives interview coworkers, family, and acquaintances. Jessie Washington died April 17 at about 5 15 pm in her home, shot with a .22 revolver, with police deeming the death possibly self-inflicted per a coroner review.

Bond set at 7,000 each, vehicle impounded. A 17-year-old Del Rio man was arrested Friday for marijuana after a narcotics dog alerted on his vehicle. 21 grams found in crotch area. Additional case involved Juan Ramirez found with 1.8 ounces of cocaine in left shoe.
A 32 year old San Antonio Shoe employee in Del Rio, Elisa Wesley Alvarez, is living across the border after allegedly shooting and killing Saul Barrios at his ex-lover's home on April 17. Witnesses say Barrios beat Alvarez earlier that day. Mexican authorities and a Ciudad Acuna radio station report Alvarez denies a relationship and offers DNA testing. At a special meeting the Del Rio City Council approved releasing 2.5 percent of contract retainage for the San Felipe Springs Water Treatment Plant Membrane Filtration System with Aquasource North America. The change lowers the potential $530,598.10 retainage from 5 percent and leaves options on timing, financing, and performance leverage as Aquasource proceeds, with implications for interim funding and possible additional interest charges.
Del Rio rehabilita tion program has obligated 875625 to aid 35 flood affected families with 25 current contracts totaling 668621. Sixty nine families approved and 76 pending. Mayor Chavira and Alfredo Delgado met Texas officials in Austin seeking additional state funds and an extra 500000 request to help remaining families.
