Voting runs 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Seventh Grade, Eighth Grade, Memorial, and Buena Vista campuses with precincts assigned to each site and election judges named. Absentee ballots are available through 4 p.m. today at the school tax office.

A LAFE contractor severed the Del Rio water main feeding Laughlin Air Force Base causing a geyser described as like old faithful. Base residents were asked to conserve water as security notified them of the cut off. Ascension Rios Jimenez, a year old former De Rio resident, died March 22 in San Jose California. Rites were held March 26 in San Jose. His wife Petra Jimenez died in October 1980. Survivors include two sons Eloy and Rolando Jimenez, five daughters Alicia Roman Lucy Benavides Irma Ramierz Aselica Najar Elia Rincon, two sisters Nacaria Orta and Juanita Castro, 37 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
