Storm pounds Del Rio area causing minor damage
A line of strong thunder storms rolled across Val Verde County Tuesday night with winds and lightning but little damage. Winds toppled a north facing cinder block wall at the animal control center near Tierra Blanca Drive east of Del Rio, while a worker alerted officials Wednesday morning. County inspector Roger Cerny described the event as part of a severe thunderstorm system moving west to east around 10:30 p.m. The NWS issued a warning as the storm crossed the county.
