Voters in Del Rio area races see eight candidates file for mayor and council posts on May 6. Incumbent Roberto Chavira faces Dora Alcala. District III to elect Efrain Valdez. At Large Place A challengers Rudy Chapa Eduardo Arreola Edgar Thomas. At Large Place B challenger Robert Wade faces Garza. Brackettville mayoral and council races include incumbent Carmen Berlanga with challengers Floress Garcia and Ward. council Place 2 Tencha Pena and Canty. Place 4 Ralph Gonzalez and Wes Robinson. Place 5 John Samaniego. Also Brackettville and Del Rio school boards set May 6 with early voting April 19–28. Ballot order drawing Friday at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. respectively.
