City, county and private crews have monitored a landfill fire since Saturday at the Sanitary Landfill. The cause remains under investigation with speculation involving undoc umented aliens seeking warmth. About 22 species were seen including wintering Buffleheads, Yellow-rumped Warblers, Barn and Cliff Swallows, Northern Rough-winged Swallows, and a Vermilion Flycatcher.
