Del Rio seeks chief as 15 applicants surface
Fifteen Del Rio Police Department officers apply for chief of police job. Efrain Favela and Stephen Berg are among the applicants. one candidate, David de Luna, has withdrawn. The process follows Manny Herrera’s removal in January. Berg’s extensive background spans the Air Force, DRPD roles, degrees in criminal justice and psychology. Favela, DRPD lieutenant, has long service and a civil suit against the city. Other named applicants include Brungardt Cantrell and Wiborg with varied police leadership histories.
