Del Rio Teens Die In Accidental Double Shooting
Autopsy reports show an 18 year old Del Rio man accidentally shot a 17 year old friend and then killed himself with the same gun. The fatal incident occurred November 28, 2016, at 406 West Martinez Street on the south side. Police traced the scene to an outbuilding behind the residence. The handgun used was recovered at the location.

Snake prevention pushes Del Rio into early season
Del Rio sees an early snake season with higher moisture and heat this year. Animal Control Director Bob Gardner notes calls spread from San Felipe to new north Del Rio neighborhoods since March. Common sightings include rattlesnakes copperheads cotton mouths corals and eastern indigos with water moccasins especially aggressive from March to June.
