The Texas Department of Public Safety will allow correctional officers and jailers with two years of service to apply for Trooper trainee. Jailers must be full-time paid employees with a license or equivalent in another state. COs must have full-time service with recognized agencies. Applicants with 60 college hours or two years of law enforcement or military service meet minimum experience.
