Nine SWTJC students win Townsend essay contest

The Del Rio campus of Southwest Texas Junior College celebrated nine students winning in the Townsend Foundation essay contest. Saul Olivan Jr. took third for $500 while Alicia Ochoa earned fourth with $250. seven others tied for fifth, each $100. Speakers included Sen. Frank Madla and Gus Garcia as Dugan lauded student perseverance and support.
