Mobile Veterans Center brings aid to Val Verde County
The Texas Veterans Commission ran a Laredo Mobile Veteran Center at the Middle Rio Grande Workforce Center on Monday March 6 to offer counseling and benefits help to veterans and families in Val Verde County. Counselors provided face to face services including individual and family counseling and addiction and benefits assistance on a first come basis. The mobile unit travels Val Verde Victoria Cameron counties and nearby areas and serves as a disaster and emergency command center while offering evening and Saturday hours to fit veterans schedules.

National Park Family Fun Series at Amistad Recreation Area
The Amistad National Recreation Area hosts March Family Fun events including a trail scavenger hunt on March 11 from 9 to 11 a.m. for scouts and a astronomy themed Family Fun Day March 18 at the Visitor Center from 10 a.m. to noon with hands on activities. The events are free and open to all families.
