Seven Districts In Workshop Here A Diagnostic Prescriptive Arithmetic Workshop
A diagnostic prescriptive arithmetic workshop will be held in Del Rio on Wednesday and Thursday sponsored by the San Angelo Region 15 Education Center. It will be open to teachers in Region 15 including San Felipe Del Rio Consolidated ISD. Seven districts have indicated attendance at the event to be hosted at the San Angel Center at 200 B St. Vowell Huitt, a spokeswoman for the center, will lead the program aimed at helping districts adopt innovative ideas in education. The workshop is one of several sponsored by the Education Center.

City Cuts Land for Dam Site Saving City $160000
Del Rio expects to save at least 160000 in land costs for the San Felipe Creek flood control dam after a Soil Conservation Service rule change. Elevation requirements were relaxed allowing a 560 acre site instead of 729 acres, with $500000 city share for right of way. An archaeological survey is planned as mitigation.

Rio City Council Meets Tonight On Housing Site
A special called meeting of the Rio City Council is set for tonight in the Municipal Building Council Chambers. Two items will be considered including a site for a 54 unit low income housing project and a discussion of the Linke Leagues alignment. The Del Rio Housing Authority led by Allen V. Pearson has been informed HUD will provide over 200000 for the subsidized rental project. Pearson is arranging site surveys with developers' proposals amid controversy over the Linke Leagues plan in Del Rio.
