Disabled Veterans offer Forget-Me-Not flowers drive

Disabled American Veterans Chapter 53 will distribute Forget-Me-Not flowers nationwide from June 30 to July 6. Del Rio volunteers will staff Plaza del Sol Mall and other sites as Mayor Hugh Williams proclaims the week Forget-Me-Not Week to honor those who served, urging community support for the campaign. Police report recounts a bike theft from Martin Contreras valued at 200 dollars between Monday and 7 30 p m Tuesday. Debra Del Rio notes two women used a Ramada Inn check for services with funds unavailable Monday. Rita Kaye Johnson collided with Gregory Allen Smith while turning onto Bedell Avenue. Gerardo Martinez was cited for no proof of insurance after colliding with two Ramiro Calvetti vehicles on Hernandez Street. Carlos Patino exited a private driveway as Genaro Rivera Jr collided on West De La Rosa. Martha Richardson pulled onto South Main Street as a funeral procession approached.

Deaths of Mabel Hopkins and Alfredo Jasso in Texas

Mabel Hopkins former Del Rio resident died Monday in Austin after 13 years there. Graveside rites Saturday in Sanger with burial in Denton, Harrell Funeral Home. Survivors: daughter Mary Helen Moore and grandchildren Jason and Rachel Moore of Austin. Alfredo Jasso 51 of Del Rio died in Waxahachie. Rites Saturday at 11 a.m. in Assembly of God West Martin Street. burial Oak Lawn Memorial Park. Survivors include wife Anita, children, siblings, and 13 grandchildren.
