Bread Bid Won By Bairds Bakery In Val Verde County

Baird's Bakery of San Antonio won the bread and roll contract for the sheriff's office after Val Verde County Commissioners Court considered two bids. Baird's bid was more than 900 dollars lower than Richter's Bakery, and Baird's also held the contract last year. The meeting also discussed deputation approval for Sharon Sue.

Del Rio Council Meets Tuesday in Special Session

The Del Rio City Council will hold a special-called meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the Municipal Building to review the 1977-78 general and gas fund audits and consider a new ordinance granting power to remove dilapidated structures with costs billed to landowners. Local officials including W A Schuler and W E Cook will present audits.

Inauguration Set for Ciudad Acuna Municipal Palace

Ciudad Acuna with Gov. Oscar Flores Tapia to lead a 7 p.m. ceremony inaugurating the new municipal palace near Benjamin Canales Plaza. Governor will hand the building to Municipal President Jorge Cano Loperena, followed by a 7:35 p.m. tour and certificates for June 26, 1908 graduates. The event marks the 71st anniversary of a key Mexican Revolution battle led by Benjamin Canales, earning Las Vacas the cradle of the revolution designation.

This morning Amistad elevation was 1119.36 feet, down 0.27 from Saturday, with dam depth at 219.36 feet. Water storage sits at 3,660,637 acre feet, reduced by 18,298, and the surface area at 66,857 acres, down 224. Downstream flow is 10,900 cfs, versus 11,100 cfs Saturday.
