McCullough Elected To Head United Fund
The United Fund annual membership meeting elected officers for 1970 71 at the Chamber of Commerce. R R McCullough becomes president with Glyn Stewart as vice president, Mrs J B Ward secretary, and C R Pusard treasurer. Maj Rowland R Evans named Combined Federal Campaign chairman. Lt Col Carl G Eyler retired will oversee the campaign fund and Mrs Ernest Worley handles publicity. Directors draws include Bo Brown M C Locke Abel Ramirez Hector Valdez for one year terms, two year terms John L Dodson Jr A Frankenberg Silas Byrd John Hunnicutt, three year terms Les Summitt Ernest L Worley Jr retired John Dickehut Don Valentine. City Equalization Board to Convene in Del Rio
The City Equalization Board schedules meetings Monday and Tuesday at City Hall from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to allow residents to question the latest property re evaluation. Only highway parcels East Gibbs Street and Avenue F were re evaluated this year with other areas planned for next year.

Rites Held for Edgar L. Taylor 86 in Thompsonville
Edgar L. Taylor 86 died in a San Antonio hospital June 17. Rites were held in Thompsonville with his brother and sister-in-law L R Taylor and Morris Taylor and families attending. Survivors include Eugenia Taylor his widow a son Charlie Taylor of San Antonio a daughter Mrs Harry Saunders of Brownwood a brother LA Taylor two sisters Mrs Bennie Botts Mrs Maude Richards five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
