Iron worker rescued after bridge shore accident
Chief Deputy Joe Roman said border patrol alerted the sheriff's department which dispatched a support vehicle to check on Carothers. The 32 year old iron worker was on scaffolding for pier cap forms when they collapsed and pulled him into the water. He was en route to Val Verde Memorial Hospital with broken ribs before being released after treatment.
